So you have a custom player picture you want to add and make the background transparent but the format needs to be in TGA? Follow these simple steps and you're done! These steps I am using are from Adobe Photoshop CS4. I am going to skip all the way to where the image already has a transparent background. It is very easy to do this, you can find instructions here or just Google it.
1. It is preferred that your image with the transparent background is PNG. 2. Load the image. 3. Under "Channels", add a new layer. 4. Now make sure to select all the channels except the "Alpha 1" channel. In Adobe it is an icon of an eye. 5. Select the Magic Wand Tool. 6. On the image, click on the transparent background. 7. Right click and pick "Select Inverse". 8. On the Channels, deselect all channels and except for "Alpha 1". This channel should be on. 9. Select the Paint Bucket Tool. 10. Select either the black or white color depending what you want to fill. The next step is important. 11. The player should always be white. Any part that you want to be transparent must be black. Any part you want to show must be white. 12. Lastly, remember to save as TGA. The file name must be the same one from the Editor of the player under "Portrait File". For example, TerryJo07121980.tga. ![]()
