Hello all,

i have decided to keep it all this year in the same topic, as some sort of development blog, so this is the place where you can find all related to my patches - all releases with links, usage of patches, your wishes, thoughts, and tips on how to alter the setting to your own preferences.

I will try to hit my ultimate version sooner this year, possibly withing three major releases, and to do that, i need your eyes and words wink.gif

So please, don't ever hesitate to post your comments, feedbacks, and thoughs on any version of my patches released here.

Looking forward to hear from you!

Enjoy your games!

Glad to see some of you boys have come back to FM08. FM09 didn't last more than two days with me before I reverted back. I didn't even bother trying after the updates....

Thanks for the patch postings....I've been looking for 08 patches for a few weeks now (especially the old ManagerFifa.com ones) without much luck other than FM Corners megapatch.

If anyone finds any of the old stadium patches, feel free to point me in the right direction.

As soon as we get place to discuss older releases we should try to assembly all patches that were useable in fm08, but unfortunately we still don't have that topic on this forum, and old forum doesn't work any more, link brings you back here.

I got so much addicted by FIFAM08 now that i don't really care about any game, i'll try to make as many database updates as i can, and that will do it for me this year..of course i won't buy new fifa manager game on the day one again, but will certainly try the demo when it comes out to make a call, it doesn't make sence to say i'll never play any new version again, i'll have to move on at some point wheather it will be championship manager, football manager or fifa manager i don't care as long as i feel good while playing it..I think people should give championship manager chance while wer'e at it, game will have 3D engine specifically designed for manager game, and it will come out in April, which means fresh database..but until that, and new fifa manager/football manager games there is lot of time, and i plan to fully enjoy it with FIFAM08..it's not just 3D that attracts me to it, it's the menu, interface, smaller amount of bugs, and custom patches which all work great that makes this best manager game to date

Hello rolleyes.gif

After your comments , I replayed with FIFAM 08 with a "beta" version of my "patch 3D" and you're right the gameplay 3D works better ...no doubt ! There is more fluidity and stability ! I tested also your last "beta" and it works fine !

If you're a "fan" of the gameplay 3D , FIFAM 08 is better !

May be an other FIFAM 09's problem, for a lot of players , is the link between Internet (the EA server) and the game when you play ! It's difficult to have stability all the time ! It depends probably with your quality internet connection !

Best regards and thanks for your new version of your patch for FIFAM 08 ! rolleyes.gif

Totally agree about 08 now.

I cant believe the difference at the moment. I never saw the 3d game as good as this last year.

Designed my own patch and now totally happy again.

Still sorting out database and stadiums but really iching to get started now.

I won`t bother with 09 anymore, too much stress.

We will keep working together to get this up and running in the 09 mode.

We need a post EA/BF/Gerald so this doesnt become embarrassing.

I will buy next years game of course, but I will also buy Championship manager and decide where I prefer to be.

I don't know what they did the the game, but 09 lacks a lot of things, or should we say it has just too many hard-codes that prevent config.big to operate the look of 3D..i think 08 was more flexible for editing, and it's more "clean"..it is no wonder that patches work better in 08 becouse engine van adapt all the changes in config file while 09 simply overrides it in too many segments so patches are never used to full potential..for instance i had in the first season while playing 08 dribble pass the keeper ( sadly it was opposite player dry.gif ), volley-kick in top corner from edge of box after clearance from corner, 360 dribble, step-over dribble, and overhead kick/scissors by player with rating 70 from direct corner kick..i didn't see any of those moves in 09 while testing with same gameplay, and what's even worse - i couldn't get player to shoot normal shots in upper corners, they were all low shot pass the keeper, if you can't make them do normal shots how the hell can you make them shoot from volley to top corners..anyway, 3D in 09 is broken, it looks nice but once you get the best out of 08 everything else just looks like garbage..

As for other problem - i don't think game is connected all the time, it only validates genuine copy when you first connect to internet and during instalation, i was without internet for a week and played game without problem

Hi
Didn't know where else to post this, but -
I decided to reinstall FIFA Manager 08. Near the end of the installation due to some unknown error I had to cancel the installation.
So I go to the setup, enter the key code and then I'm supposed to direct the game setup to the folder where I want to install it..
I had an old FM08 folder with all the downloads and patches and fixes where I put the game...so when I go to look for it, IT ISN'T THERE!!?!?!? I mean what the hell? angry.gif

So does that mean when I aborted the installation the last time, my folder got deleted with the abortion?
Why?
It's never happened before!

Hello,

that can't be the case, anything that you have added manually which is not part of the game should stay in folder, but why don't you use separate folder for edits, and separate folder for game? I usually have "fm edits" on d disk separately from the game and "fifa manager 08" folder with clean game, i only create folder called "backup" in the game's instalation folder.

But anyway, your files should be there unless they match original files - then they were overwritten

Well, that sucks dry.gif I never had broken instalation before but i assumed that it acts as normal uninstall..

It's just another case to confirm theory to have all addons in separate folder, i try to keep in clean, and once i'm done with everything including database, i'll burn it to dvd and put it in the box along with game's disc to always have it prepared for future instalations..i'm one of those guys who often revert to old games, so it's good to keep all stuff, but i know how it feels to loose it all, i had numerous reinstalls when i tried to edit zdata's and ever since i learned my lesson..on the hard way sad.gif

Honestly, i don't think it's good to use any training schedule, my teams gets best training rate when i give ass manager to handle them, it always gets them to 100% if you have good training grounds..i handle players individual trainings mostly, but team training is best done by ass managers

Giving the training to the ass manager messes up the energy levels for me.

How do you control this?

You could set days off in the earlier versions and this gave players days off from training but now the ass manager trains every day.

Or am I doing something wrong?

Go to individual training and set your first 11 to 80%, bench player to 90%, and everyone older then 29 to 60% training..also, players with low stamina should be on 70%

ectualy i think stuff like training schedule may still be on your pc cos they are not kept in the game folder, check you "my documents folder/fifam 08/..." stuff like training schedule ,tactics, saved games and so on should be there, unless you gave the installer an order to delete you documents.

I know that game asks you wheather to delete user's files or not, but i don't know what happens during abort of instalation..this folder with training is in C:\Documents and Settings\"Name of computer"\My Documents\FIFAM 08\training

Thanks mate, makes sense.

Its been such a long time since I looked so deep in `how` to play as opposed to `can` it be played?

I will set these and see what happens.
