First of all nice patch but still need some improvments (f.e. better GK, crossing, more reff stricknes)
I've got few gestions: What parameters in ai or tcmain file are responsible for: - agression of players? (attack player with ball) - shooting frequency from distance - Defensive positioning adjustment tuning: (whats mean max shift, min shift, and shft rate)?? DEFADJ_MAX_SHIFT (when big value more distance from opponent?) DEFADJ_MIN_SHIFT (vale = min distance from opponent?) DEFADJ_SHIFT_RATE (??) - and finally how to change difficulty level? I've changed Difficulty level to 0 in common file so that should be begginer, and i've changed Difficulty coefficients in season file but this still doesen't work for me Thx 4 anny answer and keep doing great work P.S. I'll try to answer what i know : - agression of players? (attack player with ball) - You can set it in different ways, depending on what type of game you want..in positioning.ini file you can find this lines : IDC_POS_MOVE_MARKING_FACE = 198 IDC_POS_MOVE_MARKING_SLOW_JOG = 21 IDC_POS_MOVE_MARKING_JOG = 72 IDC_POS_MOVE_MARKING_SPRINT = 227 IDC_POS_MOVE_MARKING_STOP_SLOW_JOG = 17 IDC_POS_MOVE_MARKING_STOP_JOG = 41 IDC_POS_MOVE_MARKING_STOP_SPRINT = 104 By increasing those values, you will make players mark faster, and it will result in faster closing down - in ai.ini you can set value for marking ball and players : MARK_BALL_TARGETDIST_WEIGHT = 0.75 MARK_BALL_FORMDIST_WEIGHT = 0.09 MARK_BALL_ANGLE_WEIGHT = 0.01 MARK_PLAYER_TARGETDIST_WEIGHT_NEAR = 0.75 MARK_PLAYER_FORMDIST_WEIGHT_NEAR = 0.15 MARK_PLAYER_TARGETDIST_WEIGHT_FAR = 0.25 MARK_PLAYER_FORMDIST_WEIGHT_FAR= 0.70 As for the defenders reaction itself, you should check for this line : //Defensive Tuning MIN_APPROACHDIST = 6 - By reducing this value, you make players look more contain as they will wait for players to come in the area that is suggested to start closing..this value is too high imho, becouse player are starting to close down player on the ball too soon, and then they fall out of formation, my ideal values are always between 0 and 1 - shooting frequency from distance You should increase value for shots in ai.ini : //Shot OPTION_VALUE_SHOT_DIST = 275 You can also tweak shooting bias in tcmai.ini : // Shooting from distance bias // // We can specify a close and far distance in yards // If a player is closer than the close distance, they will be heavily biased towards shooting // If a player is between close and far distance then it will add on a scaled percentage as specified by the bias // For example, if close is 10, far is 30 and bias is 30 // at close no bias is added, at far 30% bias against is added at 20 yards out, 15% bias is added // If a player is further than far then the max bias is added OPTION_SHOOTING_YARDS_CLOSE = 10.0 OPTION_SHOOTING_YARDS_FAR = 30.0 OPTION_SHOOTING_FROM_DISTANCE_BIAS = 25.0 - Defensive positioning adjustment tuning: (whats mean max shift, min shift, and shft rate)?? I have no idea wheather they make any impact, i never saw any difference in changing them, so i can't help you there - and finally how to change difficulty level? I've changed Difficulty level to 0 in common file so that should be begginer, and i've changed Difficulty coefficients in season file but this still doesen't work for me There is no difficulty settings in this game apart from those options in career menu for player negotiations, wages, staff, sponsors, etc..you can tweak those any time you want in options menu during your career, but for 3D matches there is no way to make difference, everything is changed for both sides, ai and user Keep in touch! |

Well it just makes me wonder that if you can go in and change all these values to make a better gameplay what the hell do they do at EA ?
I mean this is just lazy script writing if thats all they can come up with . I just dont get it ? Am i missing something ? If it was not for Sm touch , Shwan and other patch makers this game would just fail in most areas. Maybe thats why they do it? Maybe they do it on ourpose knowing that if they leave it open to create patches then they dont have to bother. This could be the problem then that if they just hard coded everything they would have to make a better gameplay and overall game otherwise it would flop and prob never be bought again.So they leave it open and just put a low to average gameplay in the game? Correct me if im wrong but has not this game been going 10 years or more ? If so this is the best gameplay they can do ? There must be method in there madness |

There must be method in there madness First of all - they don't have enough time to improve it, becouse it leaves just no time between two games to make it bug-free and test it properly..new game will come in seven months - what will they improve in such short notice? We will see another broken product i think For me the biggest mistery are updates 1 and 2 - if you remember last year, default gameplay looked very much alike default gameplay from 09, and gameplay from update2 from last year also looks very similar to gameplay in 09, they only added parameter for low or high crosses into engine..is it possible that they intentionally used same default gameplay and keep update2 changes from last year somewhere on the side to use it as "improvement" to put in update2 for this year also? I do understand that there is no time to propper test it, but if they knew that changes in last year's update2 really did improved gameplay, only reason i can think of for not using it in default gameplay for 09 is to have something on the side to give for "update", to make it look like they are doing something..if this is not the case, then i wonder what kind of person would do same job every year over and over again, instead of just build-up from last point from previous year? I think best way to improve this game is to simply stop with adding anything new in the game,take last game with updates asa base and focus whole year into bug-fixing, and testing, testing, testing until it's good..it would be best if this game would come out every two years, it would give them enough time to make good final product P.S. unfortunately, the very same lazyness of developers made it possible to edit gameplay, becouse their changes are hard-coded and in fm09 there is just too much of them to have a free hands in editing..if they would keep adding same for next year, i think this gameplay editing will die, as it will not be possible to bypass hard-codes..it was same mentioned for fm08 from legendary patch makers that fm07 was lot more editable and less hard-codes, and people didn't want to play 08 beocuse gameplay patches for 07 were perfect, now we can make decent patch for 08, but not as good as they were in 07 becouse hard-codes in engine that you can't by-pass..with every new game it will be less possible to edit it, unfortunately Der Beitrag wurde von smbtouch bearbeitet: 20.02.2009 - 8:19 |

The 3d even better than we had it last year. Regarding the real stadiums from the old 08 post (Derby10) I have made the folder 3d_stadiums and guess what? They actually appear in the game ..without...starting a new game. They are really good. Only Premiership and Championship, but brilliant stadium Not sure about `dark at night` light in the day` yet but I will let u know. I have found the yellow and purple ball for 09 but cant find it for 08. Any idea where it is? |
