sounds interesting, but how come that parameter file for text mode works for 3D also? I never thought it makes any difference. I will test it once when i'm done with all ideas, i'm checking out connection between default playing style changes made in aicpu.big, and confidence drops after scoring..my problem is that teams start to play different after first goal, if you disable all playing styles in way that they all use same values, teams will always play the same, even if they are in different scales..when one team takes a lead, it gets to "safe" playing style from normal, while suffering team gets to "desperate", i have tried to make all those values the same. You will see the outcome when patch is out, right after update 3

there is also the general unit for the random faktor 1 x 1200.. if you take for 1200 maybe 1 .. (what i know from the last fm03-08 the 3d game ends maybe 40:34... one time i make it... its not cool...
random faktor higher is less goals...

it think with this parameterfile you can make a absolut new game...

hope for a 3d game like fifa 09 on playstation 3....

Hello all,

i have tried to put my patch for fifa manager 09 to fifa manager 08 game, and so it happened that everything worked perfectly there - no wide low crosses, players are shooting to upper corners also, lots of tricks that were never represented in 09, smooth movement...well, needles to say, i have decided to dump fifa manager 09 and play 08 version, which was actually perfect for me, becouse it has better menu, better interface, better 3D gameplay, and with fantastic patches from community like mega patch, new balls, boots, adboards and sponsors, along with some manual database tweaks, i'm 100% rigged to play..i'm sorry that i will not continue to work on fifa manager 09, but i simply can't support this broken game any more, not when i have great game from last year in the drawer.

So, that's about it from me this year, i'll stick around for any advice about tweaks and stuff, and if anyone decides to revert back to fifa manager 08 PM me to give you my new gameplay patch

The only thing happend with my games was
i have a lot of draws and goals at the end of the game.
Winning till the last minut let us say.

Even the patch still isn't here to fix a bug that makes a saved game useless.
I think that only happens with company's who are too sure of their sellings

I'm affraid it was my last EA-Game

I can't be bought with nicer graphics, i would 100% support this game if they only left 3D like it was in 08, but hard-coded changes are just making it too horrible to play with update2, and too many bugs otherwise to play without updates. It was waste of money, and i will not buy next game due to this bad experience..i'll try championship manager when it comes out, i think it will be out in March, and will use 3D engine also, if it will be as good as i hope, i'll switch to it. I also don't feel community this year, looks like people are giving up on this game, and i can't blame them really, they treat people like sheeps who will always follow this game however bad it is, and as i said before, i think more mature audience simply can't be bought with widgets and nices graphics, we don't care about that, it's the ability to listen community's wishes that makes one product popular, and i think this series failed in this segment completely, compare english blog with german and you will see how much they care about us..

Anyway, i'm not into whyning, i actually wanted to share my work with others, and i think i have very decend gameplay in archive for fm09, but due to being perfectionist i can't release it, becouse i don't believe in it, you know? I don't see how can people swallow all those bugs in 3D and play the game this way unless this is first fifa manager game they are playing, and specially when you know that last year's version has everything ten times better after applying community's patches, and we actually started with even worse 3D default gameplay, but IT WAS EDITABLE! Now our hands are tied by hard-codes, and i have tried other patches aswell and i can 100% confirm that all those guys would do ten times better jobs in last year's version of the game simply becouse every change makes difference, while here half of lines are overriden in exe file and you can put whatever you want bug will still happen. In last year, we only had two major bugs - throw in, and free kicks, but we managed to at least lower down their frequency, here you can't do it..

Five reasons why i would always put gameplay from 08 infront of 09 :

- you can edit anything you want to make impact
- there are 5X5 positioning tweaks in tactical menu,makes you feel like real tactician
- players are making different choices in same situations, and move more natural
- more dribbles and tricks, normal shooting ( up, down, left, right ), not just aiming in bottom corners, no low-cross bug where ball rotates to 10th spectator row, and no ugly turning in passing animation
- nicer interface and menus ( that's subjective, but i love it )

Only thing i would take from 09 is graphics ( new kits, haircuts, and 3D grass ), and database. But those can also be fixed with community patches.

p.s. Goalie also work better in FM08, i'm using same values as for 09, and they are making goalie runs off they goal to cut off air pass behind defence, usually they clear it with head becouse they are out of their box Also, they don't use same value for all sort of shots, they react diffferent to long shots, and different to close shots, one more natural thing, while in fm09 they are saving in same way all shots, which is lame.

I love my game now, too good that i picked up enough experience with 09 to value 08 more, too bad i wasted money on it in the process

I have tried it, and it looks the same..now that i didn't play it for while and played fifa manager 08, i find 09 really annoying, with all colours, widgets, and 3D actually doesn't look graphically that much better then 08 as i thought before..i couldn't wait to get back to play 08, and will not play 09 again, simply becouse it can't match 08 in anything..i think 08 was perfect match for me in everything, 09's menu and skin is also worse to me then it was in previous games..so i don't want to waste more time playing 09 when i enjoy 08 that much..my own opinion is that this series took step backward with this game, but will not criticize this game any more becouse i don't want to play it any more, but i think i'm in minority of people on this forum who feel the same becouse i can see lots of positive commentars about 09, and after all this is 09 forum, so i'll just leave it all as it is and enjoy my 08, with hope that others are really enjoying 09, not just playing it becouse they don't want to feel like they wasted their money.

How do you feel about update3? Will it work for you?

08 is much better game and why did they just not leave good enough alone and just concentrate on the 3D gameplay instead.

Its only the poor performance of the 3D in 09 that decides this for me.

I can live with the wrong size pitch etc but the gameplay is not a patch on 08. No actually, the game play is ridiculous.

Problem with 08 is the stadiums. You cant build same as you can in 09.

The colours are missing for the seats etc and the structures cannot be achieved. All the stadiums look the same.

I will probably set all the real stadiums to the teams as these are at least watchable.

Do you know where any stadiums patches are?

Nice to hear that, i have decided to further update gameplay patch for 08, and once i'm done i will send it to lucanfo to upload it on the page..until then, here is my current config, i have come this far, check it out :

I am also dissapointed by the events, but it's a reasonable call by any person who cares about playing game in 3D and not caring much about graphics, i hope you understand that i never wanted to give up on this game, but i can't keep wasting my time when i know i can love and enjoy fm08 right now And after all, there is always next year to keep my hopes high I think it's very clear that this game shouldn't come out every year, two-year cycle would be perfect, it would give them more then enough time to develop great bug-free game, and people would keep this series alive withing this two-year period with custom patches. I agree with you that it all comes down to money and profit, i will not buy new game on the day one ever again.

Besides that, i am in process of collecting various patches for 08 from other people, you can find great graphics patches from managerfifa.com for fifa manager 08 here :

I will, and i think i have found a work-around fix for direct free kick bug, but so far it's only three games without it, so i need proper testing..i will play with Man united to be sure if it works, becouse Rooney's free kicks are perfect example how it shoudn't look, while his skill is very high If it's sucesfull, i'll include the fix in new patch..hopefully we'll have a place to discuss older releases of the games, i have made inquiry about it, please support here :

Don't even think about playing without them, install official updates 1 and 2, without them it's buggy game and horrible 3D, and all the gameplay patches were basically build on the update2 platform

Actually I like 08 more without the updates.
